8th September 2015 - NEW WHEELBARROWS

Our new wheelbarrows have begun rolling out to our various allotment sites.  The ones for Hawthorns, Borovere and Whitedown have been delivered, with the ones for Spitalfields and Wooteys, being delivered tomorrow (Wednesday 9th).

Each of the barrows has been marked "A A A please return" - all Association members are welcome to use the wheelbarrows (on-site only), and do please remember to put them back where you found them. Many thanks.

8th September 2015 - HAWTHORNS CAR PARK

Great news for all those with an allotment at Hawthorn - work to improve the car parking area will take place between 21st - 25th September.

Existing soil, grass and mesh will be removed, and replaced with a membrane, which will then be covered with a compacted stone surface, to a depth of 150mm.

While we all welcome this development, it will mean a small inconvenience, as plotholders will be unable to use the parking area during this period.

Can we remind all plotholders to consider the needs of local residents, and adhere to their Tenancy Agreement, by not parking in Hawthorns.

Thank you to the Town Council for this work, and all plotholders for their co-operation.

25th January 2016 - Amery Hill School - Volunteer Needed

Amery Hill School has a garden area, dedicated to a student who sadly passed away in 2013, named Chloe's Garden. Raised beds have been installed in this area and they have started a gardening club - called 'Can You Dig it' within the school to encourage the students to get involved in all aspects of growing.

Is there anyone willing to volunteer to give them some advice on what to grow, and to perhaps pop into school once a week to guide them in the right direction?

Any help at all would be much appreciated.
